Some concepts that will help you understand how Drupal allows for add-in modules. I deliberately present these concepts somewhat abstractly, so that you can apply them to other platforms such as wikis that also allow plug-ins. You find it hard going the first time. I suggest listening to this segment, then going through the two sample modules, then coming back to this.
